2010 will see the second annual Penkhull Jazz and Blues Festival. The success of the inaugural event in 2009 has given those of us on the organising committee the belief that this Festival can become a regular mainstay of the programme of community events.

The charity for 2010 is to be the ‘Heart of Penkhull Appeal’, raising money for improvement of the parish church. To emphasise this link we intend to build upon the success of last years format, by having more of a community focus throughout more of the day, centred upon the village green, making the event more accessible to the younger members of the community.

Penkhull is an active village within the city of Stoke-on-Trent, in Staffordshire. Events of many kinds are organised by the community for the community of Penkhull and the wider city. 2010 sees the centenary of the federation of the six constituent towns later to become the city of Stoke-on-Trent.

Penkhull pre dates this event by over 800years, being mentioned in the Domesday book of 1086.
